About the Department

Duties & Responsibilities

The Oakland Township Fire Department is a combination department consisting of a Fire Chief, Administrative Chief, full-time firefighter/paramedics, and Paid-On-Call firefighters. The department operates from two stations, each staffed with at least two full-time firefighters 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It responds to all 911 emergencies and provides mutual aid to surrounding communities. The part-time Paid-On-Call firefighters are an integral part of the department’s success. These dedicated individuals volunteer their time away from their personal and professional commitments to serve the community.

Mission Statement

To safely respond to fire and medical emergencies within the community, to help its citizens deal with those emergencies, and, with regard to the safety of its members, do all it can to limit loss of life, property, and the environment.
