Parks, Recreation and Land Preservation Master Plan

About the Master Plan

The Parks, Recreation and Land Preservation Master Plan is renewed every five years and is used to inform the future of the Oakland Township parks system. The plan contains community demographics; an inventory of parks, recreation facilities, and natural areas; an overview of the planning and public input process; parks system goals and objectives; and a 5-year action program. In addition to acting as a guideline for future park acquisition, planning, facility development, programming, operation and maintenance, the Master Plan is a requirement to be eligible for grand funding from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR).

The plan can be viewed at the following locations:

  • Parks and Recreation Offices: Paint Creek Cider Mill, 4480 Orion Road, Rochester, MI
  • Township Hall: 4393 Collins Road, Rochester, MI
