About

Charles Ilsley Park includes 120 acres, located north of Predmore Road, between Rochester and Dequindre Roads. The original 83 acres were donated by Charles Ilsley in 1990, and 37 more acres were donated as part of the development of the Wynstone subdivision in 2005. This park protects rolling prairies, woodlands with glacial ponds and ridges, and vernal pools. Its rolling topography, wetlands, woodlands, and prairie plantings. From 2015 to 2018, the Park Commission worked with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Partners for Fish and Wildlife program to establish prairie plantings in the former farm fields.

The park is great for hiking, cross-country skiing, and horseback riding. Over 2 miles of mowed paths provide excellent routes for bird and wildlife observation. Parking is available 1479 East Predmore Road.
