388 West Predmore Road
Oakland, MI 48363
Cranberry Lake Park was purchased in 1996, with 22 additional acres purchased using Land Preservation millage funds in August 2003. Its 213 acres are located between Predmore Road and Romeo Road (32 Mile Road). This park protects the western shore of Cranberry Lake, a narrow bog on the lake edge, rich forests, vernal pools, and fields.
Amenities include a picnic area, historic buildings, and over 2 miles of mowed and limestone trails wandering through a tapestry of habitats. There is no dock for wildlife observation or fishing at Cranberry Lake.
On the south side of the park at 388 West. Predmore Road, parking is available near the Historic District, just west of the restored Flumerfelt barn. On the north side of the park, you can find parking in the mowed lot at 635 West Romeo Road. The park’s trail system is connected to Addison Oaks County Park at Romeo Road as part of a primary East-West Connector Pathway in the Township’s Safety Path and Trail Network.
Cranberry Lake Farm within Cranberry Lake Park is a 16-acre historic district. The historic district is the site of the Axford-Coffin Farm, a nationally recognized historic farmstead of ten structures dating back to the 1840s that has been rehabilitated with the Township’s Historic District Commission. The Oakland Township Historical Society is currently leasing the buildings. The structures are open for viewing during scheduled tours or from the road.

Each summer in June, July, and August the Oakland Township Parks and Recreation Commission hosts outdoor concerts at Cranberry Lake Park and Bear Creek Nature Park. See Special Events page for more details.
